I first became doggedly driven to pursue fine art sometime around 7 December 2009. I suddenly felt a grave and persistent melancholy that I won't bother to bore you with here except that it really all has to do with my father’s death and my awful feeling that everything was the same yet absurdly different.

The result is a body of work that I tentatively call “Boat Yard Art.” It is an oblique reference to the heyday of my father, and my time as a curious 8-year-old in tow. I looked back to my own roots and heritage. I found inspiration in the honesty of the boat yard workers and the available detritus and tools that propelled my inchoate attempts and deep-seated urge to create.
